Jonathan + Sarah || E-session, Hamilton, OH

I don't have any idea where to start to blog this session. First, Sarah is an amazing photographer by herself and when she send me the request to photograph her wedding I was in total shock. Seriously, I dropped my jaw. She used to be in wedding industry for many years and it’s always a little intimidating photographing other photographers, but boy oh boy, did we have a grand time together at their engagement shoot.

We started our shoot at Hamilton ( Jonathan and Sarah's hometown) with a more casual look  and frolicked through some their fav places, and documented an evening out to remember in the years to come.. They don't take themselves too seriously (my favorite), they're incredibly down-to-earth, and they had me in stitches the entire time.

HOW DID THEY MEET:

We meet in the summer of 2010 shortly after I (Sarah) had return to the states from a research trip to Kenya. After a summer of smiles and even me reaching out to him once (with no return from him, haha), Jonathan snagged my number from a childhood friend of mine (thanks Cummins!) and our story started...

HOW HE PROPOSED:

...On February 10th, 2018, we ran in a 5k together and plans afterward were for me to have her hair done and then dinner out at one of our favorite Oxford spots, Paesanos. It was actually one of our first dates (I should have known then)... Before leaving for dinner, Jonathan asked if I'd like the gifts he had been talking about for awhile....I said "absolutely!" (he knows I do love surprises and love when he plans things). I walked into my yoga/knitting room and found a bin of yarn and knitting needles. I was super pumped, as Jonathan gets my passion and love for this art. It's one that was passed down to me by my Ging and I've enjoyed passing it on to others. It took me a few minutes but I soon realized the knitting needles were engraved...one with the name I use for my knitwear and the other with...."Sarah Corrin Van Frank, will you marry me?" I was in total shock, stunned! I turned towards him to find this handsome man down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of our lives together. He couldn't get out any other words than "will you marry me?" (insert all the heart eyes), I dropped to my knees with him and whispered, "yes". The evening was perfect, we celebrated together and it fit us.

I can’t wait for their wedding this winter in Oxford, OH!
