Ian + Carrie || Manor house, Mason

I absolutely love winter weddings, even it's super cold and we had to do photos super quick but I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they turned out. We had a blast at Ian and Carrie e-session, it is one of my favorite engagement sessions ever. And I knew their wedding would be perfect! When they first time contact me and we scheduled the consultation I knew %100 percent that we fit each other really well. I love easy going and cute couples so much.

HOW DID THEY MEET:

Ian and I met our first year of college through the youth group we both led for. A group of us were praying over the high schools that we led at and Ian was invited, and that was the first time I met him. Some friends had been talking about how they were so excited that he was becoming a leader and I was curious to see if he was really that great. He definitely was, and we hit it off right away and became friends quickly.

THEIR FIRST DATE:

Since we were friends for a while, we never really had an official “first date” but we do consider one specific hangout to be our “first date.” We we’re going to a park and there was a trail through the woods that we decided to walk. The trail ran along a creek and, for some reason, we decided to wade through it to get to the other side. As we walked across, I grabbed his hand to keep my balance, which was the first time we held hands. I later found out this was his plan all along and why he took me to that park to begin with!

HOW HE PROPOSED:...we had been dating for about a year and a half and knew we wanted to get married. Ian insisted he was going to propose in January or February, and it was December at the time so I thought we were just going on a special date. He made a whole day of it—he took me to get my nails done, we made candles at the Candle Lab, and we got dinner. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going next but we ended up at Eden Park and I was still clueless. We got out of the car and were walking through the park and he was holding my hand so tightly. I still had no idea what was going on as he led me to stairs covered in flowers and candles. It wasn’t until our photographer friend came out with his camera that I finally realized what was happening! After he proposed we called his mom, and then he surprised me with an engagement party with our friends and my parents, which was the perfect way to end our special night.

Enjoy my fav ;)
